Salt Edge 2021 recap

It’s December again, and while everyone is dazed by the fact that 2021 is coming to an end, we are sure that it is the perfect time to step back to see the big picture and to realise just how many great things have happened during this year.

The past year’s results wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of the entire Salt Edge crew, our clients, and partners working together as one team to achieve exceptional outcomes. We are very grateful and so inspired by our forces working together toward the benefits of end-users and promoting open banking’s adoption globally.

We’re always looking to the future – but first, let’s review the year. 2021 has been a very productive year for Salt Edge, just taking a moment to rewind some highlights.

📝 In 2021 we’ve issued an insightful report: “State of open banking payments in Europe in 2021. Expectations and reality.”, based on testing 2500 PSD2 APIs from 31 European countries. It contains invaluable firsthand information from a TPP and end-user testing of open banking bank channels, highlighting the current state of open banking in Europe – with a particular emphasis on payments. If you haven’t read it yet, the days off during holidays are the best time to finally do it 🙂

📱Another important milestone was timed to coincide with the year of user experience. We’ve updated the Salt Edge bank connect widget to make the user journey as seamless as possible while meeting all the regulatory requirements. Salt Edge’s bank connect widget V3 came with  an optimised bank search, improved UX, and increased safety and trust during the user journey.

📅 During 2021, Salt Edge has participated in numerous important industry events, both domestic and international. Take a look at some of the events in which our Salt Edgers took part, providing professional and expert consultancy: inspirational Money 20/20, Fintech Week London, FintechOS, Open Banking Expo, Banking 4.0, Fintech Talents Festival, and many others. Even in the face of continuing challenges due to the pandemic, events held in 2021 had an impact on all businesses within the global FinTech industry, and we are thrilled to have had a chance to participate in them!
