Pleo teams up with Salt Edge for upgrading its payment services

B2B spending solution Pleo has teamed up with Salt Edge, leader in developing open banking products, for full compliance with PSD2, thus enabling its 15K+ clients spread across Europe to enjoy value-added services and transparent payment experiences.

PSD2 has raised several challenges for financial institutions in order to become compliant. Pleo’s choice was reduced to two options: try and do it all by itself (which required lots of time and expertise) or turn to Salt Edge – who has created and successfully integrated its PSD2 Compliance solution with banks and eWallets all over Europe. The API fulfills the required services and functions including secure connection of TPPs, TPP developer portal and their verification, client dashboard, and much more. With the comprehensive documentation, TPPs can seamlessly integrate with the Pleo’s interface.

The benefits for the Pleo’s customers were never questioned. The only challenge was committing to a solution in optimum time, as implementing the compliance solution internally implies the commitment of substantial resources. After thorough research and offers comparing, we chose Salt Edge. Its full compliance solution checked all the boxes but the most important factor was the deep knowledge of the European market, especially Scandinavian. The smooth and fast implementation gave us the confidence that we chose the right partner and now, after being live for some time, we know we’ve made the right decision.

Federica Erilmi, Pleo Legal Counsel and DPO

Pleo is active in 6 European countries: Denmark, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, Germany, and Ireland, meaning that implementing the PSD2 Compliance Solution created by Salt Edge has automatically enabled SMEs from these countries to gain more complete business propositions, by having the possibility to access their accounts or initiate payments directly from third-party apps.

We’re always happy to team up with companies thinking and acting primordially for the benefit of the end-users. Pleo has an ambitious expansion plan and we’re happy to support it. Being PSD2 compliant helps end-users connect and centralise their expense flows right from one unique application – thus gaining so much more liberty in actions and time.
